Inflatable board questions and answers
Q) How easy do they pump up ? A) With the supplied pump, just a few minutes to get them really rigid.
Q) How heavy are the sup boards ? A) About 13kg for the 11 footer. A bit more as they get bigger and lighter as they get smaller. We also make a super lightweight version. These are a little more flexible and do not plane as well as the more rigid inflatables. They are cheaper though.
Q) Don't they flex lots when you stand on them? A) they do flex, but very little and the slight "bounce" is very comfortable.
Q) How easy do they puncture ? A) The inflatables are made from the same materials as the military RIBS and RNLI rescue boats. They will bounce off
rocks, beaches and all other watercraft.
Q) What happens if you do puncture one ? A) You can repair it with the supplied puncture kit and be back in the water in no time. Someone will prove me wrong but i have not heard of anyone puncturing one, they are so durable.
Q) How well do they surf ? A) Don't expect them to surf as well as a well designed "hard board" but watch the little test drive video and make your own mind up. These boards paddle very very well and probably better than a "hard " board but the travel benefits outweigh any other aspects.
Q) When are they available ? A) They are on the boat this week 25/05/09 and some will be here by air at the end of next week (start of June), so get your orders in.
Q) What size would you suggest for a learner SUP surfer of 14 stone? A) The 11'0" version would be a great safety starter SUP and a superb addition to the boot of your car.
